Trends for Spring 2014 off the Runway

Fashion trends for spring this year, based off of designers collections from fashion week in October, are quite different from last year. The classic oxford dress shirt, metallics, and bold painted prints and brushstrokes are a few to name.

In the Spring 2014 collection, designer brand No. 21 mixed menswear and womenswear, using whites, blacks and navys. In this design, Dell’Acqua combined a oxford shirtdress with a black lace detail.

You can shop for any type of oxford shirt at J Crew, including this linen popover in stripe.

This look from the Tory Burch 2014 Spring collection is on trend with the metallic floral dress and silver flats. It was one of many looks that walked down the runway in October with metallic prints in hues of gold or silver.

Sobi Dresses is a small online boutique that offers an amazing selection of dresses, rompers, shorts and tops. This is the Sobi space maxi dress which is a perfect formal maxi dress for this spring.

Karl Lagerfeld brilliantly combined color with texture using Pantone-ed pieces in several looks of Chanel’s 2014 Spring ready-to-wear collection.

The babe dress shown above from Sobi Dresses is a cute formal dress with a heart neckline and a floral watercolor print.
